The farm of the Tušar family is situated at the beginning of the village. The farm is better known by the name Pri Flandru. The farm is sustainably run, which is why there is always plenty of homemade food such as juices, vegetables, potatoes and meat products like prosciutto, želodec salami, other salamis, zaseka spread, homemade bread and other delicacies from Marija’s kitchen. In addition to seeing other animals on the farm, children can ride horses and take a ride in a carriage. Along with learning horseback riding skills and cross country riding, guests can go on riding tours in the nearby surroundings lasting several days, whereby there are six horses at most available for any single tour. In the summer, they can cycle, ascend Mount Kojca (1303 m), Mount Porezen (1632 m), Črna prst and Rodica or play on the playground with their children. If you don’t have a problem getting up early in the morning, you will get the confirmation that you are truly in the heart of nature, in the midst of meadows along the Nanoščica stream and at the foot of Mount Nanos: you can observe deer while they graze in the morning from the balcony of your room at the Hudičevec establishment. The farm also breeds horses, cows, sheep and donkeys, so it is understandable that when conversation turns to the culinary menu, they will first highlight their dishes made with organically produced meat from the animals bred at home. They also prepare several types of soups, štruklji rolled dumplings with various fillings, numerous vegetable dishes and a multitude of desserts (potica cakes, štruklji rolled dumplings, strudels, etc.). Guests will find the smell and flavour of the bread baked in the wood-fired bread oven to be especially enticing. You will never be bored at this farm. The ten children are a guarantee that the farm is always a lively place. They also have a Finnish sauna and a fitness studio, and offer table tennis and table football (fussball). The outdoor areas are lit and have swings, slides and a sandbox for children, a picnic area, a bowling alley, a grassed football field, a beach volleyball court and a mini basketball court. You can also rent bicycles or see the rich Karst underground (Postojna Cave, Škocjan Caves) nearby, as well as the close by Lipica Stud Farm. The hill on which the Vrbnjak organic tourist farm is located is not reached by the noise of traffic and you will also not see any industrial chimney stacks around. In the triangle between the towns of Ljutomer, Ptuj and Gornja Radgona, the conditions are favourable for organic food cultivation, which is why the Vrbnjak family pamper their guests with fresh vegetables from the garden in the summer and with preserved vegetables in winter. They also market their preserved vegetables successfully in organic stores. Meat products (sausages, salamis, meat dipped in a minced lard and pork mixture (tünka)), dairy products, bread from the wood-fired bread oven and kvasenica (sour cream and cottage cheese yeast cake), postržjača (cake filled with minced lard, garlic and cheese) and other pastries baked in the oven (to order) are also all homemade. You can take homemade wine, juices, teas and various brandies to the apartments designed in accordance with characteristic farm architecture. The farm has horses for the youngest visitors to ride as well as horses on which you can ride across the nearby meadows and forests. Horses are accompanied by other domestic animals that are a magnet for the children. They can play on the children’s playground, while parents can visit the nearby spas of Bioterme in Mala Nedelja or Terme Banovci as well as hike or cycle on trails arranged in the surroundings.

This farm is located at the heart of the Triglav National Park and more precisely in the Trenta Valley. It is situated at the end of a little-frequented road near a forest and the Soča River. The house has three apartments, and there are two independent small houses that you can hire. Children can play on the playground, there are sporting accessories available and there is even a vegetable garden. They serve their guests breakfast and dinner: homemade bread, bread buns, dried meat products made of mutton and pork produced at the farm as well as venison dishes, zaseka spread, cheese, cottage cheese with čompa potatoes, homemade pastry, vegetables and fruit served in the main room of the farmhouse with a small library and a play corner for children. The younger members of the family – Matevž, Jakob, Gregor and the youngest, Maruša, will happily present the wonders of living on a mountain farm that is home to Jaki the donkey, Pika the mare, sheep and lambs, pigs, chickens, Medo the dog and cats. As the Pretner family knows the national park well, they are an invaluable source of information necessary for wandering around the beautiful natural surroundings that are at arm’s reach for all those staying at the farm. The information centre of the Triglav National Park, the source of the Soča River, the Soča trail, the channels of the Mlinarica River and the beautiful Beladovec stream are all close by. There is also a long list of cultural and historical attractions that guests can visit.

The Plesnik family is one of the three oldest and most distinguished families in Logarska Dolina, and the pioneers of tourism in this breath-taking valley in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Logarska valley is an ideal starting point for hiking trips to the surroundings, and offers a host of other recreation opportunities: cross-country skiing, cycling, mushroom-picking, hunting.  At the farm, which has a certificate for organic farming, you will be served various homemade delicacies. They are especially proud of their breakfasts and surprise their guests with platters offering homemade savinjski želodec, salami, cheese, jams, butter, and juices. They also offer delicious breakfasts for vegetarians.  The Logarska dolina Valley and the surrounding peaks with their enchanting beauty and numerous possibilities for active holidays attract hikers, climbers, bicyclists, and everyone who loves nature.

The Pri Lazarju tourist farm is situated on a hill with mounted binoculars that will let you see the capital and the mountain chain of the Kamnik and Savinja Alps, the Karavanke Mountain Range and the Julian Alps. “You can see whether the ski slopes on Krvavec are crowded,” jested the master of the house, while we enjoyed the vistas with snow falling all around us. Children who come to the farm with their parents quickly send their parents home after becoming masters of the ram, sheep and dog. The Bizjan family will teach them about nature, healthy diet, ecology and life on the farm. School groups learn about the occupation of a farmer, the forest and orchard, and take a journey through history and eco farming. The farm is, therefore, friendly to both accompanied and unaccompanied children. Visitors are offered many delicacies, some of which include ox meat, štruklji rolled dumplings, desserts and many more. They are willing to share the secrets behind their culinary specialties and take homemade brandy enthusiasts on a “journey” of discovery of these homemade products. If guests are willing to help in the farm chores, the host will be happy to delegate some to them.

Lying beside the Kolpa River, the farm is surrounded by forests and meadows. The six-member Konda family were once millers but now they concentrate of producing cheese and other products from their home produced milk. Guests will therefore see a dairy next to the house along with the old sawmill, flourmill, and double kozolec (hayrack). The farm never runs out of dairy products and they are always fresh. Homemade salami is always on offer as well, since the Kondas themselves will tell you that they adapt their cooking to the desires and age of their guests They also bake many kinds of bread from the wheat grown on their farm. It is not far from the farm to Bilpa, a picturesque karst spring, and guests usually visit the Kozica viewpoint, the oldest still-operating blacksmith shop on the Kolpa River, the many remarkable churches along the river, and, of course, Kostel Castle.

The farm is set beneath Uršlja gora, in a secluded spot amidst meadows and features wonderful views across the Austrian Alps and Pohorje. The hosts are famous for their preparation of lamb, which is wood-oven baked. Those who, in addition to memories, like to take home a souvenir or two, may, among other things, purchase home-made pear or plum brandy, apple vinegar, pear juice, herb tea, lamb meat or dried fruit. Mountain bikes are available on the farm and there are volleyball and basketball courts and a football pitch. Guests may also play table tennis or badminton or relax in the sauna. The hire of sport equipment and use of the sauna is included in the price. Younger ones can have fun on the children’s playground, take part in social games or go on an exciting treasure hunt. Your hosts say that their farm is a paradise for anyone seeking peace and quiet or an active holiday. The Ravnjak family will be happy to invite you to view the watermill and the gorge by the stream or to take you sledging in winter. There are several interesting footpaths nearby, including the Romans’ path, Meško path, Voranc path, Ivarčko lake, the homestead of Lovro Kuhar – Prežihov Voranc and the Roman hotspring. Cyclists can explore the trail around Uršlja gora, while hikers may take on Uršlja gora and Peca. You may also explore the treasures of Slovenj Gradec, take a raft ride from Muta, go down the old mine in Mežica or, in winter, go skiing on Iverčko-Ošven with its new four-seater lift or visit Kope ski resort.

The name of the Čebelji gradič (bee castle) organic farm already tells us that this is home to experts in apiculture and honey products. In the heart of the Goričko Landscape Park, they have decided to pursue the organic method of beekeeping – they know that the bees can only make quality honey from unpolluted nectar, which can in turn only be found in unspoilt nature. By prior arrangement, they will arrange for you an experiential visit where they will open up a hive and present the life of a bee family. They will prepare a tasting of three kinds of organic honey. You can view an ethnological collection and a 100-year-old beehive; when the visit is organised for a group of children, they can make candles made of pure beeswax, play with bunnies and ride Poldi the pony under supervision. They can also play on the slide, in the sandbox, on the swings and climbing equipment and play basketball, football, table tennis, badminton and darts. Guests can stay at three modernly furnished apartments, from which they can take trips to, for example, Gornja Radgona, Radenci, Moravci as well as the neighbouring Austria or Hungary. Goričko is a paradise for cyclists; the farm also offers bike rental. Prior to your departure from the farm, you can fill your bags to the brim with bee treats.
