General information

Beside Zbilje Lake only twenty kilometers from Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, the Smlednik campground on the left bank of the Sava River boasts a forty-year history. Its setting of forests and green fields offers guests peace and relaxation and a choice of sites in the sun or the shade right on the lake or a little farther from the water.
Attractive modern bungalows are available for those who want to spend their holiday in somewhat more comfort.
Those who love water will relax on the beach and swim in the lake, go boating, or try catching some fish. The catch can be prepared on the grill since the campground has a special area for organized picnics (which include the use of the sports areas or grassy areas and the option of renting tables and grills), even in bad weather. The campground also offers table tennis, tennis courts, volleyball, basketball, boules, and open-air chess. There is a snack bar in the camp where in an attractive grove of hornbeam guests can order grilled fish specialties. Mushrooms grow abundantly in the area, and there are numerous possibilities for walking, mountaineering and climbing, bicycling, and horseback riding. The camp is an excellent starting point for trips to historical Škofja Loka, Kamnik, and Kranj, to the Kamniške Alps, and, of course, to Ljubljana.
A special feature of the Smlednik campground is an area set aside especially for nudists with its own washroom facilities and beach.
